[UPDATED 5/2/2012: Hey, it’s me Chad… I decide that since this page gets a lot of visits that I should update it more frequently… So here is my current list of the top 5 best PUA books of all time… I’ve also added a few PUA programs that aren’t exactly books, but are more of “home study courses” that include PDFs, audio, video etc…]
These are all programs that I’ve PERSONALLY gotten the most out of, and the books that have helped me to improve my own game the most…
If you are a guy just starting on his mission to improve with women, then I strongly urge you to get a couple of the books toward the top of this list…
If you try out two or three of them then you can pretty much guarantee that you will find some stuff that works amazing well for you!
I would also think long and hard before purchasing any PUA books not found either on this list or reviewed on this website simply because nowadays there is a TON of completely worthless crap being dumped on the market by wanna-be PUAs who suck…

#1) The Tao Of Badass
This program has been on the list for quite a while. It’s by a guy named Josh Pellicer, formerly of The Art Of Charm…
The Good: Although this is a brand new program, it is already an easy choice for number 1… I’ve read it through a few times now and everytime I do I find new gems! It’s amazingly well written, but more importantly, it offers the most COMPLETE explanation of the entire process of becoming a complete badass with women that I have ever seen. Joshua’s explanation of how to build confidence is incredibly empowering… Straight up, this shit works… Plus his “system” for interaction with women and creating attraction is solid as hell…
The Bad: On this one, I’ve got nothing bad to say…

#2) Conversation Escalation
I just added this one to the list, but I’ve been meaning to for quite a while.
I wrote a whole review of this program that explains why I think it’s so good… But the short version is that this is the most comprehensive guide to talking to women that’s available. This is a skill I think every guy who wants to improve his game with women should focus on. All Bobby Rio’s stuff kicks ass. So if you want to learn how to improve your conversations so that they lead in the direction you want (and not the “friend zone”) check this one out now, I almost put this one in first place.
#3) Become An Alpha Male
This is a CLASSIC by a guy named John Alexander…
The Good: This is the PUA book that had the most powerful effect on my life. When I read it back it 2004 I was a mess, and it helped me a lot when I needed it most. If you can wrap your head around what John teaches in this book, then it will probably be all that you need… Unlike most of the famous PUAs like Mystery and Style and so on who are always in the public eye, I don’t think that this guy speaks at seminars or anything like that. I think John is sort of an anti-PUA in that what he teaches are more the “mind sets” that successful guys have, and that allow them to be successful with women without needing to use a bunch of routines.
But that being said, this isn’t strictly an “inner game” product. John does go into quite a bit of detail explaining what to do in every step of the process, from meeting a woman to taking her to bed. The thing that’s different is that instead of teaching pick up artist “tricks”, John teaches you what to do so that you can actually BECOME the Alpha Male that women are naturally attracted to…
The Bad: John’s system is SIMPLE so if you like everything analyzed very deeply then this is not the program for you. also like I said it doesn’t have any “routines” or theories so if that’s what you want, this isn’t it.

#4) Fearless
This program teaches you 6 things you can do that show women that you are not afraid of them.
Women are NOT attracted to men who they perceive as being intimidated by them… Makes sense, right? Why would a woman want a guy who was afraid. Anyways, this is a great program from Nick Sparks and Christian Hudson from The Social Man.
I did a full review when it came out… that you can read here. I wasn’t going to list this one because they only offered a limited number of copies of this, but who knows, it could be available again soon and I believe they have a waiting list.
#5) Magnetic Messaging
This is a PUA book that focuses on one specific aspect of improving your game with women, texting. This book doesn’t go quite as wide in terms of the content that it covers as the other books on the list, but it’s not supposed to. If you can only get one guide you should probably skip this one since it only focuses on texting – but then again if you need a texting guide then this is the one I recommend most highly.
These days texting is crucial dating skill. If you are like I used to be then you may be getting a fair amount of phone numbers, but they just don’t turn into dates that much… This book should really help with that. I wrote a full review of Magnetic Messaging here.

#6) Double Your Dating
This is the original PUA book… It came out before the whole PUA fad and is totally original.
The Good: This is a good choice for a “first PUA book” for a guy to read because it will give you all of the basic information you need. If you are new to reading good dating advice then this book is going to be like a slap upside the head that is going to get you to question a lot of the bullshit beliefs that you may have been harboring about women and dating, and how everything is “supposed” to go down… David DeAngelo is much smarter than 99% of the PUAs that you see out there, and he’s a great writer, his stuff is fun to read. I remember the first time that I read this book it put me in a great mood, and totally got me psyched about all the fun that I had to look forward to. It’s also 19 bucks which is dirt cheap for a PUA book…
The Bad: This is a beginners book, so it doesn’t go into anything all that deeply… But in my opinion it doesn’t really need too. However if you have already read a ton of PUA stuff, then you might already know all the big concepts covered in DYD.
NOTE: You really can’t go wrong with this one, it is however a little confusing to purchase it. you have to go to THIS PAGE, then go to “Program Catalog” Then go to “Core Essentials” and then click on Double Your Dating… WTF?? Why on earth did they make the purchase process so difficult?
#7) Magic Bullets
No best PUA book list could be complete without at least mentioning Magic Bullets…
The Good: This has been considered *THE* PUA bible for years now and a lot of guys claim that this is like the holy grail… It includes a very technical/scientific explanation of pick up… One of the main themes in this book is what the author Nick Savoy calls the Emotional Progression Model which explains the emotional stages that a woman goes through from first meeting a guy to hooking up and starting a relationship, these steps being: Approaching, Transitioning, Attraction, Qualification, Comfort, Seduction and Relationships…
The Bad: Love Systems, the company that put this book out is heavily into “routine” based pick up which is not my thing… It’s not that I have anything against using routines or anything else that works to help me pick up hot women, it’s just not something that I personally do well with. However, if you want to get a really technical explanation of ONE way to do pick up/seduction then by all means give it a try… Love Systems has thousands of RAVING fans who love their shit… So you might too – I just have to warn you that if you are like me then you may find the ideas in Magic Bullets overly technical at times…

#8) Mack Tactics
Another classic…
The Good: This program is special because it goes really deeply into conversation and persuasion tactics you can use to hook up with women FAST. The author Dean Cortez actually learned this stuff from a real life hostage negotiator, who also happened to know a lot about how to mack on girls… When it comes to learning these persuasion tactics, there is no better guide than Mack Tactics, and the amount of bonus material that comes with this program is nuts…
The Bad: Considering the ridiculously massive amount of bonus material that comes with this program it could be a bit overwhelming for somebody who is just looking for a simple dating/pick up guide.

So there you have it, the top 5 best PUA books of all time as well as a few others… If you read this far I highly recommend going back and grabbing a couple of the one that sounded most interesting to you.
Reading articles on dating and pick up is fine and all, but if you want to REALLY learn this stuff and get good quick you should just focus on one solid and proven guide!
